iPhone Custom Ringtones

So I’m getting the new iPhone 3GS this Friday. I’ve already purchased a skin (Switcheasy Colors – Stealth: http://tinyurl.com/6mky8m) and a screen protector (http://tinyurl.com/aajjz6). I also downloaded a bunch of iPhone apps as recommended by iTunes itself and various sites:

There are a million more sites to look upon, but I found these pretty useful. Many of the apps out there are really based off of your own discretion though.

But anyway, also in preparation of my new phone, I wanted to figure out how to make my own, custom ringtones. Previously, I used a program called Samsung PC Studio to cut all of my songs and just apply them as ringtones on my cell phone (http://tinyurl.com/6g57bp). FYI, although the link is directed to a specific phone, it can still just be used as a song cutter for many other normal phones which are not smartphones. Now, I found it very unfortunate that Apple has to be a jerk and make things universal for their own brand, and their own brand only. But hey, that’s Apple for ya. Luckily, there are hackers and geniuses out there who know how to do such things as jailbreaking the iPhone and in this post’s case, creating custom iPhone ringtones. I googled how to proceed in doing this, and I found a decent video tutorial on YouTube.

P.S. Ignore the annoying background music. Go ahead and mute it if you want, since he types out instructions in Notepad in his tutorial:

18/Yellow Fever

First off, I’d like to thank everybody who celebrated my birthday with me @ Disneyland and everybody who wished me a happy birthday! My birthday of adulthood was amazing and it couldn’t have been that amazing without all of you.

So I’m still down here in Arcadia of the LA area, and today I visited one of my favorite, old chinese wonton restaurants, Din Tai Fung Dumpling House. It’s weird, cause the last time I went there, I loved it. This time, not so much. I think what disappointed me the most was that all the wonton makers were not Chinese. Instead, they were of the Mexican race .. Totally not authentic at all. Also, the majority of the happy customers were suffering from yellow fever! I think i saw at least 5 couples in that restaurant with the white male to yellow female ratio. Sad.

That’s all. I come back to the Bay Area on August 20, 2009, this Thursday, the day before I get my iPhone 3GS :]. Cannot wait.

So I’m getting the new iPhone 3GS on August 21, 2009. Therefore, I’ve been looking around at cases for it. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the iSkin Solo or the Switcheasy Colors. I like how the Switcheasy looks, but the iSkin has a tougher silicon covering. I don’t know.

I’ve never really been a fan of Sony Cyber-Shot Point and Shoot cameras, especially after owning a tremendously ugly and horrendous piece of junk as my first camera. However, Sony has recently been advertising this dSLR Point and Shoot camera! Yes, you read that right. A Point and Shoot camera with a few dSLR features. I thought it looked amazing. If the reviews live up to my expectations, I may give it a try .. maybe.

You know how when you wake up in the morning and your bed feels like the greatest place on Earth? Warm, cozy, secure. It makes you want to stay in it forever right? Well, that was most definitely not the case this morning. This morning, I woke up to some increasingly painful stomach cramps. I knew something had to be released so I went to the bathroom. Nothing. Gas maybe. So I tried to go back to sleep. That attempt failed. I went to the kitchen to make some waffles, which I presumed would hopefully help push my digestive system along a little bit faster. Fortunately, that was a success. It was 9am by that time, about an hour before my alarm was to go off. I decided to play Starcraft. At 10am, I went back to sleep, only to be awoken by my dad at 2pm to eat lunch. I wasted more of my life the rest of the day. Kind of just sitting around doing nothing.

So that was my day. One day of boredom down. Many more to go.

P.S. I figured that the reason I had to experience such intense stomach pains was because I ate cereal with most likely rotten milk. It was strange for me to eat so late at night (2am), because I am normally a person whose morals are strictly against eating anything past 12am. However, I thought I could feel less guilty if I looked up stuff online that is safe to eat late at night. Google to the rescue. It led me to this AOL Health site that listed a bunch of foods that can actually be okay to eat as a “midnight munchie.” To my dismay, I read the article (actually it was more of a slide show of pictures with captions) incorrectly. I mistakened a bowl of rice for a bowl of cereal. Thus the reason why I chose to eat Honey Bunches of Oats with 2% reduced fat milk last night. It was not only until halfway through my bowl of cereal did I realize that the last three slides contained pictures and captions of foods to avoid, cereal being one of them. I actually think it would’ve been fine if I had some better milk.
